Tale of two Lambtons

Filed under: Fraud — Tim @ 4:45 pm

Two countries, two coal fired plants, one open, one shuttered, one river, one air. Where is the sense in this clearly foolish situation, Premier Wynne?

Ontarians are paying for this energy engineered fraud. Acid rain was a fallacy to engineer the abandonment of a very cheap and super reliable power source. Nuclear power is another fraud, the public knows it as beyond expensive and dangerous, I know it as a fake energy that generates nothing.

Solar and wind contribute a minuscule amount of power, and can NEVER be scaled up to a reasonable level to supply base power.

It’s sad Ontarians are too gullible and ignorant to understand the giant fraud being perpetrated against them.

Switching from Windows to Linux Mint

Filed under: Tech — Tim @ 4:20 pm

The great experiment begins.

I’ve always wanted to leave Microsoft windoze. A friend told me Linux is all grown up now with Linux mint cinnamon, so I’m going to try, once computer at a time.

Keep you posted.

Clear your phone cache

Filed under: Tech — Tim @ 4:17 pm

I was almost out of memory on my s5. How was that possible I wondered? Turns out the cache was over 4gig. Why doesn’t android kitkat keep it in check?

Goto settings, storage, cache and then long press on cache to clear it.

Weedy man

Filed under: Recommended video — Tim @ 4:23 pm

This story rings true to me.

I never actually used weed man,  only inquiring. It took me years to get me off their call list. Talk about acting like the weed they proport to eliminate!

We’ve seen this type of negative option billing from the cable companies. If it didn’t work,  they wouldn’t do it.

Putting up with even a 50% irate rate would be worth it.

Even this negative news piece will work in their favor,  since market awareness is 90% of the battle. Most people forget about the 10% of negativity.

Overall, a good lesson in marketing.

Learn to swim

Filed under: Recommended video — Tim @ 1:58 pm

Sadly,  all the rescues are of black children. My guess it’s because they cannot afford swimming lessons or their parents don’t make it a priority.

Bluetooth Issues with Lollipop 5.0.1

Filed under: Tech — Tim @ 12:12 pm

Hopefully this will solve my similar problems.

1. Unpair both devices (remove the car from the phone; vice versa)2. Make sure you turned off your bluetooth3. Go to: Settings -> Applications -> Application Manager -> All4. Clear Cache first then Clear Data: “Bluetooth”, “Bluetooth Test”5. Enable bluetooth & pair again with your car6. IMMEDIATELY disconnect (you can do it from either way; car or bluetooth).. but keep the bluetooth turned ON7. Download latest “Bluetooth File Transfer” application from Google Play8. Open it and switch to the second tab (“bluetooth icon”)9. Select your car and do the following three things one by one (until they complete!!!): File Transfer Profile (FTP), Object Push Profile (OPP), Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)PLEASE NOTE: each of these steps may take 5-10 minutes and will FAIL for sure (a “STOP” sign will pop up in the application after it completed the action partially. Be patience and wait until that. If you did all three steps you can close the “Bluetooth File Transfer” app and move on Step 10.)10. Go to Settings -> Security -> Trust agents -> Smart Lock (Google): ON11. (you may need to leave and re-enter to Settings to see it) Smart Lock -> Trusted devices -> Bluetooth -> your car

Fences don’t good neighbours make

Filed under: Audio — Tim @ 8:13 pm

Do you have a neighbour gone bad story when your fence needed to be fixed?

Listen starting at 34:00 to the Humble and Fred show to Fred’s fence story.

His story is the same as mine,  except I decided to buy a whole new fence. I did so because my neighbour of the same ethnicity pulled the same stunt.  He wasn’t going to pay for any more than a small repair (which was putting a Bandaid on a dead body) so I decided to pay for a brand new fence so I never had to deal with him again. I also put it all on my side of the line so he can’t touch it.

Fences can often be the end of neighbourly relations, contrary to what poet Robert Frost said.
